Ancestry Library Edition Returns to Library Building Only Access December 30
We are sorry to announce that temporary remote access to Ancestry Library Edition will end on December 30, 2021.
Although access to Ancestry Library Edition was “in library” only prior to the pandemic, Ancestry provided nearly 2 years of free temporary remote access to its library subscribers due to pandemic library closures. Ancestry is ending remote access at the end of December because agreements with publishers and other business considerations prevent them from offering remote access permanently. Unfortunately, Ancestry does not sell remote access subscriptions to public libraries. Library customers will continue to be able to use Ancestry Library Edition in library buildings.
For remote access to genealogy information, library customers may wish to explore HeritageQuest Online with access via Library card and PIN.
