Durham County Library to Celebrate Fifth Annual Library Fest: The North Carolina Edition
Durham, NC — From Monday, April 7 to Saturday, April 12, Durham County Library will hold the fifth annual Library Fest. This year’s theme is The North Carolina Edition. Thanks to the generous support of the Durham Library Foundation and community partners, Durham County Library proudly provides free access to world-class author talks and programs. Programs from headline speakers will complement over 40 North Carolina-themed events happening throughout Durham over the course of the week.
Opening this year’s edition of Library Fest on Monday, April 7 is renowned sociologist and award-winning author of Lower Ed and Thick Tressie McMillan Cottom, who will speak at Main Library from 6 – 8 p.m. On Thursday, April 10, author Dr. Zelda Lockhart will deliver a talk entitled “Writing Your Multigenerational Story” from 4 – 6 p.m. at Duke University’s Nasher Museum of Art. Young adult author Nita Tyndall will host an event on Saturday, April 12 from 4 – 5:30 p.m. at Main Library. Rounding out the headliners is author Abriana Johnson, who will hold fun and inspiring Cowgirl Camryn events with Encore the Miniature Horse throughout the week at most Durham County Library locations.
