Durham County Library Celebrates Fifth Annual Library Fest: The North Carolina Edition
New Security Screening Process Introduced
Durham, N.C. – Currently underway is the Durham County Library’s fifth annual Library Fest. The event continues through Friday, April 12. This year’s theme is The North Carolina Edition. Thanks to the generous support of the Durham Library Foundation and community partners, Durham County Library proudly provides free access to world-class author talks and programs. Programs from headline speakers will complement over 40 North Carolina-themed events happening throughout Durham over the course of the week.
Visitors will also notice that the Main Library now has two locations that are serviced by screening systems. The Main entrances and the Maker Lab will screen both customers and employees. Given the increased number of patrons that will participate in this week’s events, lines may occasionally form.
Please be aware that the devices are sensitive and will detect cell phones, laptops and keys, therefore baggage will be screened. This should take less than 1- 2 minutes to process a customer. This new process will help provide a safe and secure library experience.
