East Regional teen services librarian Archie

Archie

Location: East Regional Library

Archie is a Teen Services Manager at East Regional Library. She started working with teens in 2006 and continues to learn from and enjoy the tweens and teens she meets. Her most valued accomplishment is being part of teens’ lives by interacting with them at the library and the schools she visits. Archie is an avid YA reader by choice and political junkie at night! At Durham County Library, she’s editor on the NextReads Committee and serves on Teen Services, LGBT, and Electronic Resources Selection committees. She loves being a Teen Services Manager!

Southwest Regional teen services manager Caroline

Caroline

Caroline has been with Durham County Library since 2014. She is not a Durham native and has moved around quite a bit. She loves helping teens, especially if they need help finding a new book to read or help with homework. Like most librarians, Caroline loves to read, especially graphic novels, romance, and LGBTQ books. When she is not working, she likes to garden, bake (and eat) cookies, and spend as much time outside as possible.

Danielle

Danielle is the Teen Services Manager for Stanford L. Warren. She grew up in Durham, NC. She grew up reading many books, watching anime, and playing video games. The video game systems that hold a soft spot in her heart are the SNES and PS2. Most people she’s worked with in the library know that she wanted to go to circus school but has settled on taking lyra classes and improving her roller skating skills. Danielle is always plotting her next adventure!

Dominique

Dominique is an avid reader of everything fiction. She loves to debate about books with teens, so she loves book clubs. She also enjoys playing video games when she’s not reading or thinking about her next home project.

Main Library teen services librarian Gavin

Gavin

Gavin grew up in Myrtle Beach, SC, but has always preferred trees to sand. Before starting as Main Library’s Teen Librarian, he had jobs in 3 different kinds of libraries, but youth services has always been his favorite. In his current position, Gavin works to foster an environment that is inclusive, equitable, and accessible, and honors the needs, interests, and agency of teens. Some of his favorite books are Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender, I Wish You All The Best by Mason Deaver, and Night Sky With Exit Wounds by Ocean Vuong. Gavin also likes fiber arts, tea, graphic novels, learning about languages, talking about queer representation in media, and the Great British Bake Off.

Main Library teen services manager LaShaunda

LaShaunda

LaShaunda is the Teen Services Manager at Main Library. She has been employed with Durham County Library since July 2006, beginning as a Library Page. Her passion for working with teens began through conversing with fellow Teen Services Manager Archie Burke and connecting with many of the teen patrons during her tenure at East Regional Library. After graduate school, she got back into the love of reading, with an interest in graphic novels and young adult materials about real-life situations. Outside of the library world, she loves spending time with her tween daughter playing video games.

Ms. Sara

Location: South Regional Library

Ms. Sara was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She has recently moved to North Carolina with her husband, and their dog, Zero. When not at the library, you can find Ms. Sara playing board games, taking her dog for a walk, kayaking with her husband, or playing pickleball. Ms. Sara is a die hard Cleveland sports fan, goes to the movies weekly, and frequently wins at her local trivia night.
