Teresa creció en un pequeño pueblo montañoso en el que usualmente nieva durante mitad del año y debido a esto, la librería y biblioteca locales eran sus lugares preferidos. En estos lugares aprendió a edad temprana cómo la literatura puede servir a una comunidad y cómo los libros pueden cambiar vidas. Siempre ha querido estar rodeada de libros y disfruta mucho de ayudar a la gente, por eso decidió hacer de la bibliotecología su carrera. Teresa es la bibliotecaria de servicios para niños de la Biblioteca East Regional. Le encantan los libros ilustrados y algunos de sus favoritos actualmente son The Bear and the Piano (El oso y el piano) de David Litchfield, You Matter («Tú importas»), de Christian Robinson, y Whose Moon is That («¿De quién es esa luna?»), de Kim Krans. El personaje favorito de Teresa en la literatura infantil de todos los tiempos es Ramona Quimby, de los libros de Beverly Cleary, por su encanto y creatividad. Aparte de la lectura, en su tiempo libre Teresa disfruta de la escritura, los viajes, la jardinería y las manualidades.
